Rich Farm frozen foods recalled over E. coli fears

LANSING (WKZO) -- The Michigan Department of Community Health has issued a warning about E. coli in connection with a food recall.

The department says two cases of E. coli-related illness have been found in Michigan believed to be in connection with Farm Rich frozen food products.  Rich Products Corporation issued a recall on March 28th that included mini-pizza slices, mini-quesadillas with cheese and chicken, philly cheese steaks, and mozzarella bites, among other products.

The department is advising that anyone who has fallen ill with bloody diarrhea that may have eaten one of the Farm Rich frozen food products to contact their physician immediately.  They also want everyone to check their freezers to see if they might have any of the Farm Rich frozen foods being recalled.

As of March 29th, there were 24 cases of the foodborne illness found in 15 states.
