Tigers Clinch Division Title Tie; Lions Lose Again

UNDATED (WHTC) - Prince Fielder's two-run homer in the eighth inning enabled the Tigers to win at Minnesota yesterday, 2-1. Coupled with the White Sox' 6-2 loss at home to Tampa Bay, as the Rays' David Price scattered five hits over seven innings for his 20th win of the season, it gives Detroit a three-game lead atop of the AL Central over Chicago, with both teams having three games remaining. Tonight, while the Pale Hose open a three-game series at Cleveland, the Bengals begin a three-game set in Kansas City. Coverage on 1450 WHTC is at 8:10 PM.

Brian LaHair's two-run single capped a decisive four-run, sixth-inning rally for the Cubs yesterday, as they salvaged the finale of the series with Arizona in Phoenix, 7-2. Chicago returns home to finish the season with three games against Houston, beginning this evening at Wrigley Field.

Percy Harvin returned the opening kickoff 105 yards for a touchdown, and Marcus Sherels had a 77-yard punt return for six points in the third quarter, as visiting Minnesota yesterday handed the Lions their third straight loss, 20-13. Off next Sunday, Detroit returns to action in Philadelphia on October 14, with broadcast time on 1450 WHTC at 12 Noon.

The Bears are in Dallas to play the Cowboys in Monday Night Football. Coverage on Holland's Hometown Station follows the Tigers-Kansas City baseball game.
