ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) - Two motorcyclists along the Lakeshore died late on Wednesday morning.
Cletis Burmingham, a 58-year-old Grand Haven man, was killed when he was thrown from his bike after it struck a SUV that was pulling into the intersection of 48th Avenue and Barry Street in Blendon Township. At about the same time south of Allegan, 63-year-old Larry Fletcher of Allegan was apparently trying to pass slower traffic in a no-passing zone along M-40 when he came up on a pickup truck. As the biker made his move, the truck started to turn left into a parking lot near Maple Street. Fletcher’s machine clipped the front end of the vehicle, throwing him off. Like Burmingham, Fletcher died at the scene. The unnamed pickup driver wasn’t hurt.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
