NEDERLAND, COLORADO At first people in the remote town of Nederland, Colorado didn’t like the idea that Bredo Morstoel’s cryogenically frozen body was being kept in tons of dry ice in a shed near town.
They got used to it. Now “Frozen Dead Guy Days” is their biggest annual festival, and the dead guy they call “Grandpa” is one of their favorite and most famous residents.
But Morstoel’s Grandson, who lives in Norway and picks up the bills is locked in a financial dispute with caretaker Bo Schaeffer.
The grandson is threatening to move the body to the Cryonics Institute in Clinton Township, Michigan.
The townsfolk says the festival will continue no matter what.
The Institute doesn’t comment on its business or its potential clients.
