LANSING (WKZO) -- The Michigan Department of Community Health now reports ten deaths statewide due to West Nile Virus.
Overall, 170 cases of the virus have been reported in the state. The latest victims were a 73-year-old Wayne County man and an 86-year-old man from Macomb County. There have been 42 cases of West Nile documented in Wayne County, 22 cases in Macomb County, and 29 in Detroit.
West Nile Virus is most commonly transferred to humans from mosquito bites.
