LANSING (WKZO) -- Anyone convicted of bullying or cyberbullying in Michigan would have to get counseling and have their mental health evaluated if a new bill in the state House is passed.
Representative Dale Zorn of Ida is sponsoring the measure, which he says came about after conversations over the past year and a half with judges, teachers, students and parents. His bill also makes bullying and cyberbullying a crime punishable by up to three months in jail and a fine of up to one-thousand dollars.
Zorn says current state law needs to be tougher on bullies.
