DOWAGIAC (WKZO) -- There was another happy homecoming for about 100-members of the 126th Calvary of the Michigan National Guard over the weekend, ending a year long deployment in Afghanistan.
They landed in Grand Rapids Saturday morning and were delivered by bus to their hometowns. Bravo Company went to the Manistee Armory and Charlie Company was delivered to waiting family at Dowagiac High School. Most of the members of Charlie Company live and work in this area.
11 members of the unit received Purple Hearts for wounds sustained during the deployment.
