ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) - Profits fell at Herman Miller for the quarter that ended on September 1st. The Zeeland-based office furniture maker reported yesterday net sales of nearly 450 million dollars, down 1.8 percent from a year ago, while new orders dropped six percent to 452 million, and earnings fell eight cents a share to 42 cents. Company officials say that the results reflected good strategic execution offset by pockets of weak demand.
