SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WHTC) - Tonight’s public hearing on the Palisades plant by officials of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission is in advance of an 11-day supplemental inspection that begins on Monday on the facility’s “safety culture” following a series of operational shutdowns over the past couple of years. It apparently has attracted anti-nuclear activists from other parts of the country to the Beach Haven Event Center in South Haven, including Kevin Kamps of the group Beyond Nuclear, who will stay in the area for a talk in Kalamazoo tomorrow night.
