CROCKERY TWP., MI (WHTC) - A two-vehicle crash on M-104 between Spring Lake and Nunica hospitalized three persons, and it may lead to criminal charges for one of the drivers involved.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff's Sergeant Greg Rotman, the crash occurred around 11 PM on Sunday night. A car attempting to turn from 130th Avenue to Cleveland Street pulled into the path of another car on the state trunk road, sending both drivers and a passenger in the first auto to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The first driver, who was pinned upon impact had to be extricated from her vehicle, was not identified pending the completion of an investigation into the crash, as alcohol is believed to have been a factor. She and her passenger, 18-year-old Nicky Hills of Spring Lake, along with the other driver, 21-year-old Austin Stevens of Grand Rapids, were all initially listed in stable condition.
