GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) - A former attorney from Zeeland will stand trial on federal mail fraud charges after a magistrate ruled yesterday that he was competent to stand trial. Kenneth Hoesch pleaded not guilty after a forensic examination showed that he would be able to face counts stemming from allegedly stealing 800 thousand dollars from estate-planning trusts. He waived a detention hearing and could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
