SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC) - The Saugatuck Township Board last night rejected a request by the community’s board of appeals to retain a new lawyer in the case involving the Aubrey McClendon property near the mouth of the Kalamazoo River. The appeals board wanted a fresh set of eyes to look at plans for a proposed luxury resort and condo complex. The township and McClendon’s holding company settled a federal lawsuit on tax and zoning issues about the site this summer. Singapore Dunes LLC has reportedly submitted a couple of proposals for the site.
