HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The recent controversy over Grand Rapids’ panhandling laws has apparently compelled Holland city leaders to address the issue. During this evening’s City Council meeting, members will be asked to approve a first reading of an ordinance amendment that would identify specific time, place and manner restrictions on the act of begging in the Tulip City. City Attorney Andrew Mulder’s office notified municipal officials that the current begging ordinance is overly broad in light of state court case law and is “unenforceable.”
