LANSING (WTVB) - The growing threat of West Nile Virus had a major affect on outdoor cookouts this Labor Day. People spending time outdoors took extra precautions to avoid potentially deadly mosquito bites. Health officials say just because it's after Labor Day doesn't mean the mosquito season is over. They continue to urge people to take extra precautions, especially when outside for long periods of time. Health officials recommend staying inside during dusk and dawn, and spraying repellent on both your skin and your clothes when you are outdoors.
