UNDATED (WHTC) - Delmon Young cracked a three-run homer in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie, and Justin Verlander scattered four hits with 11 strikeouts over eight innings, as the Tigers pulled even with the visiting White Sox atop the AL Central on Sunday night by completing a weekend sweep of the Pale Hose, 4-2. Detroit hosts Cleveland on Monday afternoon, with coverage on 1450 WHTC at 12:40 PM, while Chicago returns home to entertain Minnesota on Monday evening.

Angel Pagan's RBI single in the ninth inning broke a 5-5 tie, and visiting San Francisco defeated the Cubs on Sunday afternoon, 7-5. Chicago travels to Washington for a Monday matinee.

Pat Leyland, Brandon Loy and Chad Wright each had three of the Whitecaps' 15 hits during Sunday afternoon's 6-4 victory over visiting Dayton. The season finale at Fifth Third Ballpark is on Monday afternoon.
