LAKESHORE (WKZO) -- Officials were warning everyone to stay off the piers along the Lake Michigan Shoreline where huge waves smashed into lighthouses and there was the threat of someone getting swept off a pier.
The threat is expected to be greatly reduced today as winds began dying down late yesterday afternoon.
Then there were the surfers. They put on their wet suits grabbed their boards, yelled the equivalent of what ever “Surf’s Up” is in Michigan, and hit the waves off Silver Beach near St. Joseph.
They complained the waves were not very good for surfing because despite their size they weren’t very well defined. They plan to try again today.
