DOUGLAS, MI (WHTC) - Environmentalists will be on the offensive as public comment on a proposed luxury condo-resort near the mouth of the Kalamazoo River will be taken by the Saugatuck Township Zoning Board this evening. Groups such as the Saugatuck Dunes Coastal Alliance don’t want the natural aspect of the site spoiled by the Singapore Dunes development. The holding company of Aubrey McClendon is seeking six variances, and also has an alternative plan before township planners. Tonight’s Zoning Board meeting begins at 5 PM at St. Peter’s Church Hall in Douglas.
