HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The discussion about Holland’s energy future resumes this evening. The Board of the Holland Board of Public Works joins with City Council members for a Sustainable Return on Investment “Capstone” Event, reviewing and discussing materials and data from new generation option analysis, and centering on a proposed new 114-megawatt generator powered by natural gas that will complement the current DeYoung power plant. No action will be done tonight, as Council will take under consideration what will be discussed in the three-hour session at the DoubleTree Hotel that begins at 6 PM. Environmental interests who claim that the general public is still an outsider in these plans say that they will be present to pressure Council and the BPW Board for more transparency and participation.
