LANSING (WKZO) -- Ambassador Bridge owner Manuel Moroun is sinking another five-million dollars into the fight over a new bridge across the Detroit River.
Moroun plopped down another 5.1-million dollars this week in his campaign to convince voters a new bridge between Detroit and Canada is a bad idea. He's been sponsoring ads in favor of Proposal 6, which would require statewide and local votes for new bridges and tunnels to Canada.
According to Tom Shields, a spokesperson for Taxpayers Against Monopolies, Moroun's spending spree on Proposal 6 is one of the highest ever in Michigan for a statewide campaign. Over the past two-years, Moroun has spent roughly 24-million dollars on the issue.
