EAST LANSING, MI (WHTC) - Less than two weeks before he is due to face reelection, State House Representative Bob Genetski faced East Lansing District Court Judge David Jordon yesterday for sentencing on a misdemeanor drunken driving conviction. The Saugatuck Republican was given credit for already completing two programs that convicted drunken drivers are usually assigned to experience, and was ordered to perform 40 hours of community service, along with paying an 11 hundred-dollar fine. Genetski’s driver’s license will remain restricted through next April to work related trips after it was initially revoked when he refused to take a breathalyzer test. He is being challenged by Democrat Stuart Peet of Middleville for a third and final two-year term in the Legislature.
