KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- There is good economic news on the job front and this may surprise you, Detroit is one of the cities leading the way. Careerbuilders does a regular survey on job openings and spokeswoman Jennifer Grasz says the Motor City is in the top five.  Its because of the auto-industry comeback and its effect on everything from tool and die shops to trucking.

Ron Kitchens at SouthWest Michigan First says Detroit’s comeback is helping make it easier to market the rest of Michigan to developers.

He says that’s a big change and a welcome one. He says they need to make hay while the sun shines and take advantage of Detroit’s resurgence.

The other cities looking for employees include San Jose where technology is the driving force and Dallas, Austin and Houston where there is an energy boom.
