SAN FRANCISCO (WHTC) - Game one of the World Series is this evening at AT&T Park in San Francisco, as the National League Champion Giants host the American League Champion Detroit Tigers. The Bengals, idle since sweeping the Yankees in the AL Championship Series last Thursday, send ace Justin Verlander to the mound against Barry Zito, whose Game 5 triumph in the NLCS at St. Louis last Friday sparked San Francisco's comeback from a 3-1 series deficit. It's the first post-season meeting ever between these two teams.
