DETROIT (WKZO) -- Officials with the Detroit International Bridge Company have criticized a plan by Canadian officials concerning the construction of a new bridge connecting Detroit and Windsor.
The Bridge to Strengthen Trade Act was introduced recently in the Canadian Parliament. It would eliminate permit approvals and remove potential environmental roadblocks for the construction of the bridge.
DIBC President Dan Stamper restated his company's support of Proposal 6 that would demand for voter approval before any bridges or tunnels could be built in the state.
