EAST LANSING, MI (WHTC) - Five high school football teams from the Lakeshore earned state tournament berths last night.

First-round pairings are highlighted by the rematch between Zeeland East and Zeeland West, with the East Chix taking the first contest on August 30 in double overtime, 60-52. You can hear that game on 92.7 The Van and http://927thevan.com/listen-live/, beginning at 6:40 PM.

Another August 30 rematch involves West Ottawa and visiting Grand Ledge, with the Panthers falling in the first meeting on the road, 31-10, and we’ll carry the second go-round from Panther Stadium on 1450 WHTC and http://whtc.com/listen-live/, beginning at 6:40 PM. 

Both Holland Christian and Hamilton earned post-season spots despite winning just five games, with the Maroons traveling to Stevensville Lakeshore, and the Hawkeyes visiting Edwardsburg; both of those games have Friday 7 PM kickoffs as well.
