Pack gets second win in a row

by

ST. LOUIS, MO (WSAU) -

The Packers offense was just too much for a good St. Louis Rams defense Sunday. After a close first half, the Packers dominated the third quarter and maintained the lead and momentum through the fourth quarter winning 30-20. A late Rams touchdown was too little too late after Aaron Rodgers and the Packers receivers connected on 342 passing yards and 3 touchdowns. There was almost another touchdown, but James Jones great catch led to no points since both feet didn’t come down in bounds in the endzone. Randall Cobb had two touchdown catches and Jordy Nelson had one. Aaron Rodgers passing was 30 of 37 for a total of 332 yards. Jordy Nelson was the leading receiver with 8 catches for 122 yards including a touchdown.

The Packers were able to keep the ball moving with 9 of 13 in third-down conversions, keeping the Rams offense on the bench a lot in the third quarter. The Packers had nearly six minutes more time of possession than the Rams.

Defensively, rookie Casey Hayward had another interception against the Rams after picking off two last week against the Houston Texans. The Packers defense did well despite having four starters out with injuries. Eric Walden led the Pack with 9 tackles, 8 of them solos. Morgan Burnett, A.J. Hawk, Tramon Williams and Charles Woodson all had five tackles. Clay Mathews and Dezman Moses each recorded a sack.
