LANSING (WKZO) -- The niece of an 80-year-old murder victim has filed a lawsuit against the Michigan Department of Corrections.  In the suit, Nan Drinkard claims that the agency did not properly supervise the two parolees now in custody for allegedly killing her aunt, Nancy Dailey last November.

Tonia Watson and Alan Wood are charged first degree murder.  They are accused of befriending the victim, then breaking into her Royal Oak home and slashing her throat before robbing her for drug money

According to records, parole agents knew the two were suspected in new crimes since their paroles but did not sent them back to prison.  There are also reports that they were under investigation by numerous police agencies before Dailey's murder.
