GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) - Although window-peeping is considered a minor crime, breaking into residences to take a closer look will mean serious prison time for a 26-year-old Allendale man.
Xavier JaJuan Davis was sentenced yesterday in Ottawa County Circuit Court to between 15 months and 20 years after he had pleaded guilty to first-degree home invasion and disorderly conduct charges. He had been arrested following a May 29th incident at a apartment unit in the area of Lake Michigan Drive and 48th Avenue. At that time, a sleeping 21-year-old woman awoke to see a masked intruder in the doorway to her bedroom; her scream scared the intruder off, and she was not harmed. Davis may not only be involved in that incident, but also in other similar crimes in the area over the previous couple of months.
