COOPERSVILLE, MI (WHTC) - A group of professional thieves struck a Coopersville car dealer this week.
Tires and rims from 52 vehicles were stolen from the lot of the Betten Baker dealership off of the I-96/68th Avenue junction sometime before dawn this past Tuesday, with an initial loss estimated at over 50 thousand dollars. Hours earlier, another dealer in Montcalm County was struck and the timing, proximity, volume of loot and professionalism seen in both incidents has led Ottawa County Sheriff’s Detective Lieutenant Mark Bennett to believe that the same gang is behind this.
No suspects are in custody, and anyone with any information is asked to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department or Silent Observer (877-88-SILENT, www.mosotips.com).
