CANON CITY, CO (WHTC) - The search for four persons from Allegan County on the run from the law is over, but their legal troubles are just beginning.
Tips enabled law enforcement officers from various jurisdictions to converge around 7 PM Eastern Time last night at the Budget Host Royal George Inn in Canon City, west of Pueblo, Colorado. They were able to arrest 23-year-old Gregory Bradshaw and 32-year-old Kenneth Grauman without incident, along with their girlfriends, 29-year-old Laura Lee Grauman, the cousin of Kenneth Grauman, and 17-year-old Brittany Rector. A working meth lab was discovered in the motel room, and a vehicle stolen from Iowa was also recovered.
Bradshaw and Kenneth Grauman had escaped from a state correctional program in Baldwin on September 29th, and had apparently broken into several homes in the Dorr area before they and their girlfriends fled the state. There were identified from images taken by surveillance video at a grocery store in Kokomo, Indiana, but continued to elude capture. A woman had called Rector’s mother earlier this week, telling her that everything was OK with the four, but they feared being killed in a hail of gunfire if they were captured.
The four fugitives face charges in various states.
