HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - A blue ribbon committee charged with looking at the long-range future of one of Holland’s landmarks meets at 8 AM this morning. The first of four weekly sessions of the Windmill Island Gardens Strategic Planning Committee is in the second floor Training Center of Holland City Hall. The panel of civic and municipal leaders will explore all the options for the home of the vintage DeZwaan Windmill in the middle of the Macatawa River. A vision statement for City Council to review is expected by the end of October. A separate committee has been established to raise around 900 thousand dollars for needed repairs and renovations to the 250-year-old windmill and the surrounding island.
