KALAMAZOO, MI (WHTC) - Congressman Fred Upton and Challenger Mike O’Brien traded verbal jabs for an hour on the campus of Western Michigan University last night. It was the first of two scheduled debates prior to the November 6th election. O’Brien, a Democrat from Douglas, is seeking to topple the nine-term incumbent Republican Upton. The second session is at the Cook Nuclear Power Plant in Buchanan on October 23rd.
