HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Hard work and strong faith has paid off in more ways than one for Doug Hekman.

The president of Holland Township-based pork product processor Quincy Street Inc. was named today as the Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce Small Business Person of the Year for 2012. He was among a group of 11 persons who built the company from modest beginnings in 1994 to being a nationwide leader in its field.

During the breakfast, Chamber leadership also released its endorsements on the ballot proposals for the November 6th General Election, advocating a yes vote for Proposal 1 and for the renewal of the West Michigan Airport Authority Millage, and a no vote for the other statewide proposals.
