KALAMAZOO, MI (WHTC) - One of two Congressmen representing the Lakeshore has a debate tonight. Incumbent Republican Fred Upton of St. Joseph meets Democratic challenger Mike O’Brien of Douglas at 7 PM in Western Michigan University’s Knauss Hall. Upton says that this and a second forum at the Cook Power Plant in Buchanan on October 23^rd are places where neither candidate can hide. O’Brien counters that the nine-term incumbent Upton has lost touch with his constituents.

There are no scheduled debates between incumbent Republican Congressman Bill Huizenga of Zeeland and Democratic challenger Willie German Junior of Muskegon.
