UNDATED (WHTC) - It’s a busy weekend of activity in and around the Holland area, highlighted by Zeeland’s Pumpkinfest, which began yesterday and runs through tomorrow; Hope College’s Hometown Week festivities concludes with tomorrow’s football game against Olivet at Holland Municipal Stadium; the annual Holland Fire Truck Parade tomorrow through downtown and ending at Kollen Park; and Right to Life Holland Area’s annual Life Chain, which is along 16th Street from Fairbanks to Lincoln Avenue on Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Holland city residents are being asked to begin raking leaves onto street gutters or road shoulders, beginning this weekend, as the annual fall collection program begins. Through the weekend of November 10th, city crews will be picking up only fallen leaves due to the equipment they are using, asking that other yard waste be handled by the property owners separately. Streets with curbs and gutters will be given preference. More information on this program is available from Holland City Hall or online at www.cityofholland.com.
