HUDSONVILLE, MI (WHTC) - A two-vehicle accident north of Hudsonville around the Noon Hour yesterday hospitalized two women.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Steve Austin, the van of 41-year-old Ranae Hook of Hudsonville was northbound on 36th Avenue, approaching Port Sheldon Street. Hook apparently drove through a red light, as her vehicle struck the car of 24-year-old Arika Williams and careened into a tree head on.
Rescue units had to extricate Hook from her vehicle, and both she and Williams, a Grandville woman, were taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital for treatment. Hook was initially listed in critical condition, while Williams was in serious condition.
Sgt. Austin added that both drivers were buckled up as the crash remains under investigation.
