WAYLAND, MI (WHTC) - The search for a large bay show horse who escaped from his owners while on a trail ride in northeast Allegan County ended yesterday afternoon with his safe recovery. There were concerns about the safety of “Hondo,” a chestnut warm-blood show horse that stands 16 hands high, after he had bolted while halters were being changed on Monday in the area of Bowen’s Mill and Patterson roads., but several volunteers who combed the area of 4th Street east of Wayland found the shaken gelding with only a few scratches after being in the wild for about 24 hours.
