UNDATED (WHTC) - Gerald Laird’s three-run double capped a five-run rally in the sixth inning, and the Tigers went on to win at Kansas City last night, 6-3, to repeat as American League Central champions. The series at Kauffman Stadium continues this evening. Coverage on 1450 WHTC begins at 7:45 PM.

Despite a grand slam with five RBI from Dayan Viciedo, and seven innings of one-hit, 10-strikeout pitching by Hector Santiago, the White Sox’ 11-0 victory at Cleveland last night was eventually for naught, as Detroit’s win eliminated Chicago from the post-season. The series at Progressive Field continues this evening.

Lucas Harrell and three relievers teamed on a two-hit shutout, as visiting Houston’s 3-0 triumph doomed the Cubs to their first 100-loss season since 1966. The series at Wrigley Field continues this evening.
