WASHINGTON (WHTC) - The MSU Bio-Economy Institute on Holland’s North Side will be one of two sites in the state used by Argonne National Lab to further research into advanced battery uses. A five-year, 120 million-dollar federal Energy Department grant will go towards finding breakthroughs for new technologies of the lithium-ion power source. The Lakeshore was selected for its two major battery-making facilities on 48th Street, and the grant will also fund battery research to be done on the U-M campus in Ann Arbor.
