HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - A Holland Township couple continues to be the apparent target of assaulters who tried again last night to attack them.
The unnamed 33-year-old homeowner and his wife were first attacked at their unit in the Leisure Estates mobile home park off of Butternut Drive 16 days ago, when a unexploded Molotov Cocktail hit their trailer, and two men later in a green Chevy Astro van pulled up, with one of them pointing a gun at the man before driving off without further incident.
Last night, a barking dog roused the couple, along with other family members inside, to flames coming from a rear bedroom, and all of them were able to escape safely. Crews were able to bring the blaze under control in about 20 minutes, with Ottawa County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Mark Bennett and his fellow detectives called to the scene. It didn't take long for them to determine that the fire was intentionally set, but Bennett didn't immediately disclose much more information.
No suspects are in custody, and anyone with any information is asked to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department or Silent Observer (877-88-SILENT, http://mosotips.com).
