ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) - There is a vacancy on the Zeeland City Council, as Al Dannenberg’s resignation was accepted last night. He is ending a 10-year run on the governing panel, as Dannenberg won election three weeks ago to the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners, filling the seat of the retiring Bob Karsten. Applications to complete the final three years of his term will be accepted through December 31st, with council appointing a successor by mid-January. Dannenberg, a full-time realtor, was the top vote getter in the 2011 City Council election.
