ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) - Sentencing is slated this afternoon for John Kelly Junior, the 55-year-old Glenn man who didn’t contest felony assault charges in a plea deal with prosecutors that had more serious counts, including attempted murder, dropped. Authorities claim that Kelly slashed the throat of a man outside of a Saugatuck restaurant this past June after the victim refused to give him a cigarette; the wound was less than an inch away from severing the jugular vein that would have been fatal. Kelly could get up to 10 years in prison.
