ANN ARBOR (WKZO) -- State regulators have cut through red tape to allow an Ann Arbor hospital to treat more people affected by the national meningitis outbreak.

The Department of Community Health says it has granted approval for a mobile MRI service and expanded operating rooms at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.  That hospital has treated more meningitis patients than any hospital in the country since the outbreak.

Tainted steroids have been blamed for 65 cases in Michigan, in which nine of those patients have died.
