DOUGLAS, MI (WHTC) - The effort to consolidate Saugatuck and Douglas governments has been bolstered by the support of a former Douglas city leader. Paul Marineau joined the Consolidated Government Committee after attempting to bring all sides of the matter together, and was the treasurer of the opposing group Citizens for Independent and Cooperative Communities. State officials will say later this month if voters will decide the issue.
