Five Hospitalized After Crash East of Coopersville

COOPERSVILLE, MI (WHTC) - Five persons were hospitalized, none seriously, after a two-vehicle crash in the northeast corner of Ottawa County yesterday morning. According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jon Ditmar, 18-year-old Carley Chase of Marne, with 17-year-old Katelyn Schoenborn of Conklin riding with her, was driving her car eastbound on Roosevelt Street northeast of Coopersville when she apparently drove through a stop sign at 24th Avenue and broadsided the car of 45-year-old John Perrin of Coopersville. The collision drove both vehicles into a corner ditch, with Chase's car landing on its side. Rescue crews had to extricate the two teens, along with Perrin. The two girls, along with Perrin and his two sons – 26-year-old Jonathan and 19-year-old Tyler – were all taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital for treatment. The incident remains under investigation.
