ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) - Nearly a year in jail and over 77 thousand dollars restitution was the sentence handed down on Friday against Stephanie Bogdan. She had pleaded guilty to embezzlement charges for taking money from the Watson Township coffers while as that community’s treasurer, as prosecutors claimed that it was, in part, to feed a gambling habit developed during the first nine months that the Gun Lake Casino was in operation last year. Bogdan was also ordered to serve five years of probation, as she could have been put in prison for up to five years. She repaid 50 grand to the township when she submitted her guilty plea in June.
