PLAINWELL, MI (WHTC) - Residents and businesses in Plainwell will be holding a celebration at 6:30 tonight to mark the end of the first phase of downtown reconstruction. M-89 was torn up through the spring and summer months, with westbound traffic rerouted around the main business area. A New Orleans-style “jazz funeral” will go along that major artery from Chart Street to Fannie Pell Park. The second, less extensive phase of road work on M-89 is slated next spring.
