DETROIT (WKZO) -- A customer of a restaurant on Detroit's southwest side shot and killed one of two masked men who tried to rob the business Wednesday.

The shooting at Adi's Coney Island on Michigan Avenue left the owner of the business injured around 10 p.m. Thursday.  Police say the robbers were on a crime spree in the Michigan Avenue and Livernois area and had held up at least two other businesses prior to going to the restaurant.

A patron who was also injured by the thieves is expected to recover.  The name of the suspect killed has not been released.
