COVERT, MI (WHTC) - The Palisades nuclear power plant is slowing coming back online after being taken down on Sunday due to a steam leak in an auxiliary building at the complex near Covert. Repairing a fitting on a drain valve couldn’t be done while the plant was still operating. This is the third shutdown of Palisades this year after several operational problems in 2011 led the NRC to downgrade the plant’s rating and increase its oversight.
