GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) - A preliminary hearing into hit-and-run charges against a one-time NBA player was waived today in Grand Haven District Court. Duane Washington will stand trial for allegedly striking 70-year-old Estella Vitins, as the Sparta woman was wandering on the shoulder of I-96 east of Fruitport on September 18th, and then driving off. She’s recovering from her injuries. He could face up to five years in prison if convicted.
