Election Day Along Lakeshore, Around State, Across Country


UNDATED (WHTC) - On this Election Day along the Lakeshore, clerks Dan Krueger of Ottawa County and Joyce Watts in Allegan County are predicting as much as three quarters of the registered voters will be casting ballots.

There are contested races for both Congressional seats, two of the three state House positions, one Ottawa County Board spot, one Ottawa County Circuit Court vacancy; for both Allegan County sheriff and clerk, the supervisor post in Port Sheldon and Saugatuck townships, the treasurer and two trustees in Saugatuck Township, and two chairs on the West Ottawa and Hamilton school boards. Voters will also be asked to renew the airport millage in Holland, Zeeland and Park Township, retain the BPW electrical service franchise in Holland Township, decide on police millages in Fillmore and Overisel townships, as well as an operational millage in Laketown Township, and on a fire millage renewal in Overisel Township.

Polls open at 7 AM and close at 8 PM, with those in line at that time allowed to cast a ballot. Coverage on 1450 WHTC begins at 6 PM, with results posted online at www.whtc.com and www.927thevan.com.
